چکیده

Many investigations have been conducted to explore new therapeutic approaches for cartilage tissue regeneration owing the limited repair ability of cartilage. Delivery biomolecules is a promising strategy enhancing regeneration. However, direct delivery in vivo generally leads rapid loss product or possibility spreading nontarget sites, which may weaken their effectiveness and impair translation these strategies into clinical practice. Recently, engineering using controlled systems considered overcome weaknesses by regulating spatiotemporal distribution biomolecules. Hydrogels are carriers development biomolecule because they highly tunable can be fabricated encapsulate bioactive control release. Moreover, favorable biocompatibility integrate host facilitate use wide variety situations. This review summarizes recent design hydrogels as

Recent advances on gradient hydrogels in biomimetic cartilage tissue engineering

Articular cartilage (AC) is a seemingly simple tissue that has only one type of constituting cell and no blood vessels and nerves. In the early days of tissue engineering, cartilage appeared to be an easy and promising target for reconstruction and this was especially motivating because of widespread AC pathologies such as osteoarthritis and frequent sports-induced injuries. However, AC has pro...

Application of Extrusion-Based Hydrogel Bioprinting for Cartilage Tissue Engineering

Extrusion-based bioprinting (EBB) is a rapidly developing technique that has made substantial progress in the fabrication of constructs for cartilage tissue engineering (CTE) over the past decade. With this technique, cell-laden hydrogels or bio-inks have been extruded onto printing stages, layer-by-layer, to form three-dimensional (3D) constructs with varying sizes, shapes, and resolutions. Th...

Methylcellulose Based Thermally Reversible Hydrogel System for Tissue Engineering Applications

The thermoresponsive behavior of a Methylcellulose (MC) polymer was systematically investigated to determine its usability in constructing MC based hydrogel systems in cell sheet engineering applications. Solution-gel analyses were made to study the effects of polymer concentration, molecular weight and dissolved salts on the gelation of three commercially available MCs using differential scann...

Hydrogel-laden paper scaffold system for origami-based tissue engineering.

In this study, we present a method for assembling biofunctionalized paper into a multiform structured scaffold system for reliable tissue regeneration using an origami-based approach. The surface of a paper was conformally modified with a poly(styrene-co-maleic anhydride) layer via initiated chemical vapor deposition followed by the immobilization of poly-l-lysine (PLL) and deposition of Ca(2+)...
